Some 7 billion m3 of raw water per year is available from the three reservoirs (Sangguling, Cirata and Ir. Haji Juanda), and about 5  billion 3 m3 is currently used and with the rest of 1 billion m /year as reserved and approximately 129 m3/seconds is lost or wasted, said Soetisna, Head of Bureau of Operation and Conservation PJT II on Thursday 23 April 2009 at PJT II. Djamal, Chairman of the JWSRB, regarding how to maintain the sustainability of drinking water in Jakarta, namely to achieving  the Millennium Development Goals by 2015 of 13,000 liters/second, the need of 22,000 liters/second of clean water to anticipate the increase in the planned increase of ground water charge, and to maintain environmental sustainability (ecosystem) by preventing land subsidence  due to excessive ground water abstraction. In 2022, Jakarta would need about 28,000 liters per second, not including water losses of 50% in the distribution network
